The display flashed a code 42 two times while test driving (15 min) for jerky travel.
Truck will not plug, will creep but doesn’t have a long SCR range before 1A kicks in. If the pedal is mashed it will begin to move, momentarily lurch (1A) then continue to travel.
    Any ideas? A card maybe?

Hi Johnny, thanks for contacting us!

The -42 code points to an issue with the current sense or wiring. No plugging could be Rec 4 or the current sense issue, so they could be related. Short SCR range could be controlled acceleration set too low. I am questioning if it actually pulls 1A in or if it is a one-time shoot through with main scr latching for an instant. Since it continues to travel it means it is not a constant PMT issue. Does it continue to run in 1A or SCR speed?

Hi Capt. Jeff, thanks for visiting our blog!

As the error codes you are seeing are a few different issues, the first thing that I would do is go over each connection to ensure it is securely fastened. Pay particular attention to the Z plug of the EV100 control card, the card uses pin Z2 for battery negative connection and Z7 for battery positive connection. If either of these pins are loose in their socket or not making good contact it could explain a finding like what you are seeing.

If you are still having this issue and everything seems to be properly connected follow the troubleshooting steps for codes -46 and -48 in the EV100LX/EV200LX service manual available here: http://www.fsip.biz/GEManualsDownload.html

You can also give us a call at 1-800-333-1194 and ask for tech support. Have a great day!
